Kristy (Shanbrom) Meyer was born and raised in Westerville and graduated from Westerville North high school. Kristy and her husband, Chase, moved back to Westerville to raise their daughter and son, who are attending Westerville City Schools.

Kristy’s civic engagement includes being a member of Wilder Elementary’s Equity Team, founder of Sunbury Woods Neighborhood Watch, Friends of Columbus Metro Parks, and a member of several parent-teacher organizations. She is excited to join the Westerville City School Board and give back to the community that provided so much opportunity for her.

Kristy obtained her Bachelor's of Science from Heidelberg University in Environmental Biology and Business Administration and her Master’s of Science from James Cook University in Queensland, Australia in Environmental Biology. Kristy is the Director of Sustainability at Smart Columbus. As the Director of Sustainability, she works to anticipate and advance what is new and next at the intersection of technology, the environment, and community good.
