Wilder celebrates Start with Hello week, International Peace Day Start with Hello week at Wilder Elementary

The school community at Wilder Elementary dedicated this week to building connections among students and staff and creating an inclusive environment.

As part of Wilder’s Start with Hello week festivities, students participated in daily lessons and activities that encouraged them to connect with their school community. They talked about ways to reach out to someone who is alone. They read books featuring themes of kindness and inclusion. They learned how to say hello in different languages. They created postcards to their “family” teacher, who serves as another adult they can connect with in addition to their home teacher.

School Board to Meet Sept. 27

The Westerville City Schools Board of Education will meet in a regular board meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, at the district's Early Learning Center, 936 Eastwind Drive, in Westerville. 

Space will be limited to 50 people to comply with health and safety protocols based on CDC guidance. Masks will be required and social distancing observed. Proceedings will also be streamed live over the district's YouTube Channel

The Westerville Parent Council (WPC) is hosting a Fall Food Truck Festival to support scholarships for Westerville students and WPC programming.

The festival is 4-8 p.m. Oct. 16 at Westerville North High School’s parking lot.
