Westerville North High School basketball coach Shan Trusley is Ohio’s 2023 recipient of the Certificate of Recognition in the National Federation of State High School Association’s Spirit of Sport Awards. The national award recognizes individuals who exemplify the ideals of the positive spirit of sport in interscholastic athletics.
Doug Ute, executive director of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, surprised Trusley with the honor Tuesday after the morning session of his youth basketball camp at WNHS’ gym.
Trusley was named OHSAA Division I All-Ohio Coach of the Year by the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association in March.
