Signing ceremonies were held recently for two student athletes at Westerville North High School – Clarke Gilchrist and Paige Miller.

Gilchrist signed a Letter of Intent at a ceremony held on Thursday afternoon, November 21.  She will play volleyball and major in Human Resources at Tiffin University.  Gilchrist is a scholar athlete who has excelled not only in the classroom, but also on the court.  She is an active member at Rhema Christian Center and plans to participate in her first mission trip in 2020.  She is also a member of Westerville North’s Warrior Athlete Leadership Team (WALT).  Gilchrist started out playing Y-league basketball, which eventually lead to “all things volleyball.”  She is a four-year letterman, was an OCC Honorable Mention recipient in 2016, and made the 2019 OCC-Buckeye Division Second Team-All League.  Gilchrist credits God first, family, coaches and her teammates from Two Girls and Westerville North, with helping her accomplish her goals.

Miller signed her Letter of Intent on Tuesday afternoon, December 3.  She will play lacrosse as an Oiler at the University of Findlay, where she plans to major in Education.  She aspires to teach at the high school level and eventually become involved in high school athletics.  Miller started playing lacrosse in 5th grade through the Westerville league.  She continued playing through middle school and tried out for the high school lacrosse team in her freshman year.  She lettered in the sport as a freshman, when she was named Rookie of the Year.  In her sophomore year, she was awarded Offensive Player of the Year and during her junior year, scored her 100th career goal.  Miller was named a Scholar Athlete during three sports seasons.  She joined Resolute and played for two summers traveling to many tournaments and playing with girls from all over the country.  At the President’s Cup last year, her team got to meet players from the U.S. Women’s Lacrosse team.
