Westerville North High School senior Julian Slate will attend The Ohio State University this fall as a Morrill Distinction Scholar within the Fisher College of Business.  He has received a full four-year academic scholarship.  The Morrill Scholars Program rewards students who show commitment to both academics and diversity by excelling in the classroom and making a positive impact in their communities.  Morrill Scholars are selected because they have shown their advocacy for equity and access by contributing to those around them.

Slate, a Leadership Today Future Leaders and Leadership Westerville graduate, has earned honors in both academics and athletics.  One of the top students in his class, he is a National Honor Society member and an Outstanding Honors Chemistry student.  He is a varsity letterman in track and field and football, and has received accolades as a Scholar Athlete.  Slate also served at the Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast Celebration, participated in Westerville Service Day, packed perishable items at the Vineyard Food Pantry, and sorted Christmas goods for inmates at the Ohio Reformatory for Women.
