Students at Hawthorne Elementary got to watch meaningful, age-appropriate movies recently with school counselor Jennifer Scherer.  Pupils in grades K-2 saw Inside Out while youngsters in grades 3-5 viewed Wonder.  Following the films, the children shared their thoughts about feelings; about not judging others based on what they look like or where they are from; and about ways in which they could treat others kindly.   Students throughout the entire school took a pledge to stop saying mean and hurtful words to each other, and posted their signed pledges by the cafeteria to serve as a daily reminder.
