Westerville South Students Awarded Prizes for Innovation in Believe in Ohio Competition

Six Westerville South High School students received awards for their innovative business concepts in the Believe in Ohio competition, a grant program that encourages pupils to apply STEM concepts in the development of a product commercialization plan.  Ethan Ross’ wind-powered automobile, Kenan Brashear’s solar parking lot installation service, and Lauren Seitz’s Triboelliptical exercise machine placed in the local competition.  Alexandra Miller’s NapPod concept placed in the regional competition.  On April 25, at the statewide contest at Westerville North High School, Mackensi Crenshaw’s cardiac seismograph and Robert Agle’s AmbiPanel solar panel system placed at the state level, with each student taking home a $2,500 cash prize.   These students are taught by science teacher Aislynn Valentine.
