In coordination with the 141st running of the roses at the Kentucky Derby, Alcott Elementary school hosted a “Hat Day” on Friday, May 1. Staff, students and parents wore hats to symbolize their focus as Alcott speeds towards the final leg of the 2014-2015 academic school year. Anyone entering the building that day was encouraged to wear a hat to support this endeavor, and any and all hats were welcomed. The morale-boosting event marked a great show of support from the Alcott Learning Community.
