The Rotary Club of Westerville, which sponsors a Student of the Month program, recognized recipients at a luncheon at Villa Milano held on Thursday, February 5.  February students are:  Jonny Derringer, Westerville Central High School; Morgan Pearce, Westerville North High School; Chenelle Moore, Westerville South High School; and Paige Grube, St. Francis DeSales High School.

The purpose of the program is twofold:  to recognize outstanding students who have distinguished themselves by serving their school and to expose them to the Rotary Club and its ideal of “Service Above Self.”  Students selected join Rotarians for lunch every week for a month, and have the opportunity to interact with members.

Math, Anatomy, Chemistry and Literature are Chenelle Moore’s favorite subjects.  The senior at Westerville South holds a 3.42 GPA, where she is a member of the National Honor Society.  She plays basketball and volleyball, and also participates in track and field.  Moore has volunteered at Challenge Day, local nursing homes, and food pantries.  She also coaches and is involved in church related activities.  Moore plans to major in Nursing at Wheeling Jesuit University.  Despite her busy schedule, she always makes time to enjoy her family.

Paige Grube is a senior at DeSales, where her favorite classes are Chemistry and Advanced Biology.  She holds a 4.152 GPA.  She is Dance Team captain and participates in Student Council, the National Honor Society, tutoring, peer ministry, Math Club and Student Ambassadors.  Grube teaches dance at Straub, serves at food kitchens, is a St. Paul altar server, and volunteered at the St. John/Holy Rosary Christmas Toy Drive.  She plans to pursue pharmaceutical studies at Butler or the University of Toledo.
