The Westerville Sunrise Rotary Club is proud to announce the award of a High School Study Abroad Scholarship to Marielle Beach, a junior at Westerville Central High School.  Beach will be spending the 2014-15 academic year at Karjaan Lukio High School in Karjaa, Finland.  While abroad, she will live with several host families and attend a college preparatory high school.  In addition to that scholarship, Westerville Sunrise Rotary is also sponsoring four Westerville students for the Short Term, Family to Family Youth Exchange program.  Each will spend four weeks or more this summer in their host countries. The students are:

  • Cecilia Hollins, Switzerland, freshman at the Metro School;
  • Katie Potter, Italy, junior at Westerville North High School;
  • Jennifer Mannino, Ecuador, freshman Westerville North High School; and
  • Rachel Eulberg, Mexico, junior at Westerville Central High School.

All five students will participate in the cultural immersion program and serve as ambassadors to the international Rotary Clubs during their stays.  Founded in 1929 with the Rotary Club of Copenhagen, Rotary Youth Exchange currently offers international cultural exchanges in more than 100 countries and to 10,000 high school aged students annually.
