Students who have studied the Holocaust might find this play to be very intriguing. The national award-winning new American classic production is about the awakening of a modern teen Holocaust denier. High school pupil Nicole Burns doubts the truth and cares even less, but ultimately comes face-to-face with the Holocaust, and in an extraordinary sequence, meets Anne Frank in a cattle car on its way to Auschwitz. The play begins with Nicole in today’s teen world of hip-hop dancing, unfinished homework assignments and young love. Along with Nicole, the audience is transported back in time to Nazi-occupied Paris, a work camp in Auschwitz and then brought forward again to the light and hope of the present.
