On February 24, local comic book artist/author Max Ink spent the morning with fifth grade art students at Hanby Elementary School.  He shared with them the knowledge and love of an art form that has given him “much joy as both a reader and writer/artist for over 30 years.”  His comic book, or graphic novel, Blink:  So Far, is a collection of his original comics.  The stories center on the lives of two young women (Blink and Sam) who, along with their friends, live and work in Columbus.  Ink said his work has been compared to that of Craig Thompson.

Hanby art teacher Kimberly Perrone said as pupils create original art journals each year, this was “an outstanding opportunity to discuss art, writing and graphic novels with a practicing artist.”
