The cross country teams at Westerville Central High School are hosting the sixth annual Westerville GameDay 5K on Saturday, November 16. The event will take place at Westerville Central, which is located at 7118 Mt. Royal Ave., and in the surrounding neighborhood. The Kid’s Run starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 5k Run/Walk begins at 8:45 a.m.
Each year the goal is to promote running and exercise while creating a fun, family-oriented event with a football, “game day” feel. The event offers GameDay 5k technical t-shirts, age group awards, cash prizes for overall winners, door prizes, and other giveaways.
The Westerville GameDay 5k originated in the fall of 2008. This road race/walk serves as the primary fundraiser for the girls and boys cross country programs at Central. In addition, one dollar of every entry fee will be donated to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank of Columbus.
