Mark Twain Principal Vicki Moss wore a chicken suit, as promised, after students at her school surpassed their $10,000 fund-raising goal.
Mark Twain Elementary School Principal Vicki Moss told her students she would dress like a chicken if they raised at least $10,000 during the October 4 walk-a-thon. When the final numbers were tallied, the children came up with $12,093.51, money which will be used to fund events including field trips, assemblies, author visits, playground equipment, Breakfast with Books, the Chess Club, Family Fun Day, the Publishing Room, a spaghetti dinner, a talent show and staff appreciation activities. At an all-school assembly held on October 23, a drawing took place for prizes and Moss did, in fact, appear in costume. She was joined by her beak-wearing staff for a rousing rendition of the chicken dance.
