Community members tuning in to WOCC-TV3 at 5:30 p.m. each evening may recognize some familiar faces.  The latest installment of School’s Out, a monthly, half- hour program hosted by Dr. Jeff Demas, features interviews with students from Best of Both Worlds, along with Job Training Coordinator Becky Haselberger.  Pete and Harry Morley, graduates of the transition program, are showcased, along with Ty Jackson and Joeniqua Barthel, current participants.

In 2011 Westerville City Schools, in collaboration with Otterbein University, began the Best of Both Worlds transition program for students with disabilities.  Participating pupils have work experiences on Otterbein’s Campus and in Westerville; engage in activities at Otterbein University with college students; and practice daily living skills throughout the local community. They gain skills for independence while experiencing college life.
