The Westerville Crew will host the 15th annual Hoover Invitational Rowing Regatta on Saturday, April 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  High school athletes representing 15 teams from Ohio, surrounding states and Canada will compete in head-to-head 2,000 meter sprints on a fully-buoyed seven-lane race course.  The races will feature four- and eight-person rowing squads at the varsity, junior varsity and novice levels.

The Regatta will take place at Hoover Reservoir, which is located at 7600 Sunbury Road in Westerville.  Attendees can capture the rowing action south of the County Line/Smothers Road bridge, from Bel Lago restaurant and the shoreline.  Regatta staff will be available at the Sunbury Road shelter house near Walnut Street.  Results will be posted online at www.hooverinvitational.org/Results.

Westerville Crew was founded for the purpose of promoting rowing among junior age rowers (up through age 18) in preparation for local, regional and national competitions. The rowers come from many communities of the Columbus metropolitan area, including the Westerville, Olentangy, Big Walnut, Dublin, New Albany, Worthington and Johnstown school districts. Westerville Crew is an all-volunteer organization able to exist through the hard work and dedication of many parents, coaches and community leaders.
