The Central Ohio Soccer Officials Association (COSOA) began an initiative 23 years ago to recognize both teams and individuals for their sportsmanship qualities. This year they have selected both the Westerville South girls’ soccer team and one of its senior captains, Jenna Applegett, for the Excellence in Sportsmanship award. Coach Brandi Tanler and Applegett will be honored on Friday, February 1 at the officials’ annual banquet. Applegett will receive a scholarship from the COSOA for her exemplary behavior on the field.
