Each Wednesday during the 2012-2013 school year, ABC 6/FOX 28 meteorologist Bill Kelly visits a different third or fourth grade class in the Columbus area with a fun and informative weather lesson. Each student in the class receives a lunchbox with surprises from ABC 6/FOX 28, Dave and Buster’s and McDonald`s. On December 5, it was Hanby Magnet School’s turn. Kelly talked about what a meteorologist does and gave demonstrations to the pupils illustrating the effects of air and water related to weather predictions. Hanby children also wanted to know about Mr. Kelly as a person, and they asked him where he went to college. He told them he received a B.A. in Communications from California State University, Sacramento; Meteorology credentials from Mississippi State University; and certification for Broadcast Meteorology from the National Weather Association.
