The holiday season will be brighter for many local families who are struggling this year, thanks to the efforts of students and staff in the Westerville City School District. High schools held Caring & Sharing assemblies on Friday, December 7, and when all was said and done, the combined total raised for the charity was more than $32,000. Westerville Central High School led the pack by donating a whopping $15,641.86. Mathematics teacher and Key Club Advisor Jennifer Horn coordinated the effort. Westerville North brought in $10,013.62, led by advisors Jennifer Zimmer and Melissa Simashkevich. And Jason Rowsey at Westerville South inspired students and staff to add another $6,400 to the mix. Due to the generosity of all three high schools, Caring & Sharing will be able to help a number of needy families in our community.
