Reflections

I Will Change the World By

 

Discover the world of art through dance, film, literature, music,

photography or visual arts. No experience necessary!

 


 

 

What is Reflections?

The Ohio PTA, through the National PTA, holds an annual cultural arts program, Reflections. Children in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit original works of art in six areas: literature, visual arts, photography, dance choreography, film production and music composition. The PTA strongly supports education in the arts. It is about creating educational excitement and involvement within our schools between parents, teachers and our kids.

 

Theme for 2021-2022:  "I WILL CHANGE THE WORLD BY..

 

ENTRY GUIDELINES

 

1) CREATE ORIGINAL WORK

Only new and original works inspired by the theme I WILL CHANGE THE WORLD BY... will be accepted. Enter in one or more of the following arts categories: 

  • Dance Choreography
  • Film Production
  • Literature
  • Music Composition
  • Photography
  • Visual Arts
  • Special Artist

2) SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY

Entry Collection Week: October 18-21, 2021.

Entry Deadline: October 21, 2021.

 

Your submission must include a completed and parent-signed student entry form.

In your artist statement, tell us about your work and what it means to you.

  • How does your work relate to the theme?
  • What is your personal connection to the theme?
  • What did you use to create your work (e.g. supplies, technology, instrumentation, props, etc.)? 
  • What/Who was your inspiration?

Submit entries to the main office.

 

3) RECEIVE AWARDS & PRIZES

1st-3rd place winners in each category will advance to the district level. District level winners will be recognized during a reception at Westerville Central High School. State awards will be announced in early 2022 and national awards will be announced in May of 2022.  ALL Genoa participants will be recognized for their work in the Spring of 2022.
