The Rotary Club of Westerville, which sponsors a Student of the Month program, recognized recipients at a luncheon at Villa Milano held on Thursday, May 2.  May students are Enoch Frimpong, Westerville Central High School; Ayden Warren, Westerville North High School; Elia Bouton, Westerville South High School; and Madison Rennie, St. Francis DeSales High School.

The purpose of the program is twofold:  to recognize outstanding pupils who have distinguished themselves by serving their school and to expose them to the Rotary Club and its ideal of “Service Above Self.”  Students selected join Rotarians for lunch every week for a month, and have the opportunity to interact with members.

Ayden Warren, a senior at Westerville North, enjoys studying Social Studies, History, Sociology, Geometry and Biology.  He sings in the Notables, helps with the Recycling Club, participates in track, and was DACC Junior Student of the Month.  Warren also assists in taking donated school supplies to children in need and is active in his church, where he teaches a third grade Bible class and leads worship for his youth group.  He is headed to South Africa to volunteer with foster children and orphans.  He plans to attend Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois, where he will pursue a degree in Formative Worship and a minor in World Missions.

Elia Bouton, a senior at Westerville South, has earned a 4.2 grade point average (GPA).  History and Chemistry are her favorite subjects of study.  School activities include cross country (varsity, captain), Track (varsity, captain), National Honor Society (vice president), and class officer (treasurer).  She was a short term Rotary Exchange Student in 2016, a Rotary I CAN volunteer, and a ski instructor with the Adaptive Sports Connection.  She has earned numerous academic and athletic awards.  Bouton plans to major in Sustainable Development at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

DeSales senior Madison Rennie, holds a 4.231 GPA, enjoys studying English Literature and Composition, Marketing, and Theology.  She is a member of Student Council, is Senior Class Vice President, plays soccer, is in the Run the Race Club and is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.  She volunteers at soccer camp and at the We Rock the Spectrum gym.  She, too, has received many academic and athletic honors.  Rennie will study Business Management at the University of Kentucky.
