Kennedy Bross, a second-grader at Robert Frost Elementary, and her younger sister, Aubrey, who will be a kindergartener this fall, raised $661 to plant 661 trees across the globe through One Tree Planted, an environmental non-profit that seeks to restore at-risk ecosystems and habitats.

The sisters recently hosted a garage sale where proceeds will help restore landscapes in Australia, Uganda and the Pacific Northwest. With every dollar donated to One Tree Planted, a tree can be planted.

Bross shared the project with her peers in Kathleen Hohman’s class on Tuesday.
