Robert Frost Elementary students kicked off the holidays with a service-learning project that spanned across the school.

Students in kindergarten, first- and second grade decorated paper bags while third-, fourth- and fifth-graders decorated paper bags and assembled snack packages for those in need. The school collected more than 16 boxes of snack packages decorated with love from students.

“We wanted to help teach the art of giving to our students and how special it is to give to someone,” school counselor Alisha Porter said. “Instilling empathy at an early age is important as they grow older. I hope they remember to care for others and think of others.”
