Kindergarten students turn a hand-cranked generator to create light.
COSI on Wheels brought its Energy! program to students at Robert Frost Elementary School on October 16. The event consisted of a 45-minute interactive assembly designed to introduce children to the science of energy, followed by hands-on activities that encouraged the development of science process skills. Youngsters had the opportunity to explore potential and kinetic energy, design and engineer chain reactions, create circuits, and explore the impact of friction and mass on an object’s movement.
Principal Sarah Berka expressed her thanks to the numerous volunteers who spent their day operating activity stations.
