Families took advantage of the nice weather on October 7 to participate in National Walk to School Day.

The sidewalks around Robert Frost Elementary were a little more crowded than usual on Wednesday morning, October 7, as dozens of parents walked their children to school.  Organized by the Partnership for a Walkable America, Walk to School Day in the United States began in 1997 as a one-day event aimed at building awareness of the need for walkable communities.  In 2000 the activity became international when the United Kingdom, Canada and the U.S. joined together for the first International Walk to School Day.  Over time, this program has been part of a movement celebrating safer and more accessible streets, healthier habits, and cleaner air, with record breaking participation each October.  Robert Frost families have made this a priority for many years.
