More than 210 individuals showed up at Westerville Central High School on Saturday morning, April 11, to participate in the Spring Dash 5K, hosted by the Fit Frosties of Robert Frost Elementary School.  Money raised from the event will go towards the installation of a paved walk/jog/bike path around the school grounds.  So far, more than $6,100 has been collected for the project through sponsorships and fundraisers like this race.  Overall and age group results from this race can be found at: http://www.speedysneakers.com/2015springdash5koverall.aspx .

Fit Frosties is a free club run by a number of parent and teacher volunteers.  About 40 percent of students in grades 1-5 have joined.  Throughout the school year, approximately 113 students arrive one hour early each Thursday to head outside and start the day with a run.  If the weather does not cooperate, they stay indoors and work on strength, agility, and cardiovascular endurance.

The Fit Frosties are grateful to their sponsors – Step By Step Pediatrics, HMB, Inc., Meijer, Road Runner Sports, CME Federal Credit Union, Smiles By Emrich Orthodontics, Shirck Orthodontics, Wanner MetalWorx, Romeo’s Pizza, Carrie Indiciani Photography, Telhio Credit Union, Family Source Chiropractic, A Smile by Dr. DeVese Dentistry, Searcy Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine, Corporate Cleaning of Columbus, and P.J.
