Getting kids to exercise can be a challenge.  Asking them to voluntarily wake up and come to school early to run seems like a nearly impossible task, but that’s exactly what Eric Indiciani, a physical education teacher at Robert Frost Elementary School, has accomplished.  For the second year in a row, the Fit Frosties Running Club has attracted enthusiastic support, with 155 student members who arrive at 8:10 every Thursday morning to warm-up and then run laps around the playground, take an occasional trip to Westerville North's track, or stay indoors for circuit training workouts when the weather doesn’t cooperate.  The success of the club is a huge testament to the love and support of nearly three dozen Robert Frost teachers and parents who volunteer their time on Thursday mornings as well.

The culminating event this year will be participation in the Spring Dash 5K, which will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11 at Westerville Central High School.  Speedy Sneakers Racing is underwriting the run, but more sponsors are sought.  All proceeds obtained will go directly toward the installation of a half-mile paved path around the perimeter of the Robert Frost lot, ideal for jogging.  Estimated cost is $32,000.  For further information, please contact Eric Indiciani at IndiciaE@westerville.k12.oh.us, 614/797-7280.
