Last school year, the Robert Frost Elementary PTA challenged students and their families to raise $10,000 towards the purchase of iPads for the school.  If they were successful, the PTA said they would match that amount.  They also promised to host an outside movie night.  As an added incentive, Principal Sarah Berka said she would sleep on the roof of the school.  Robert Frost families crushed the challenge and raised more than $12,000.  Unfortunately, the spring movie and camp out were canceled due to inclement weather.

On September 6, however, Berka and the PTA followed through.  More than 300 people enjoyed watching Despicable Me under the stars on the school playground while Berka prepared for her night on the roof.  After the experience she said, “It was great fun, but it got pretty cold!”

In total, the students and PTA raised $22,000 and Robert Frost was able to purchase 48 iPads, covers, and apps.
