Hawthorne instructional aide releases second entry in children’s book series

<p dir="ltr" ><span id="docs-internal-guid-fb1be2dd-7fff-2f47-a6c6-80d0f6842cdd" >Hawthorne Elementary instructional aide </span ><strong >Rey Phillips </strong >has added another entry in his children&rsquo;s book series focused on character traits and reinforce the lessons he and other school staff try to impart with their students.</p > <p dir="ltr" ><span id="docs-internal-guid-fb1be2dd-7fff-2f47-a6c6-80d0f6842cdd" >Earlier this month, Phillips self-published &ldquo;</span ><a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BF37XRZ8/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_TSCSHC9TAS78D2FMN6J7_0" >Deaundre Otis Walker (the baby dragon who&#39;s afraid of everything)</a >&rdquo; on Amazon. The story is about a dragon whose fear of the unknown causes him to make rash judgments. When he takes the time to learn more about the creatures and insects that terrify him, he overcomes his fears and walks away with a deeper understanding of the world around him.</p > <p dir="ltr" ><span id="docs-internal-guid-fb1be2dd-7fff-2f47-a6c6-80d0f6842cdd" >&ldquo;A lot of times our children are so afraid of things they don&rsquo;t understand,&rdquo; Phillips said. &ldquo;I thought this would be good for them to understand: Sometimes you have to get to know a person before you judge them.&rdquo;&nbsp;</span ></p > <p dir="ltr" ><span id="docs-internal-guid-fb1be2dd-7fff-2f47-a6c6-80d0f6842cdd" >He published the first of his 10-book series, &ldquo;Lil Bishop Goes to the Library,&rdquo; in December.</span ></p >
