Westerville students, families, staff and community members are invited to a virtual African-American Read-In featuring author Zetta Elliott at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 20.
The theme for this year’s event is “Celebrating Black Joy” and will feature the works of African-American poets, as well as books written or illustrated by African-Americans. There will also be a writing contest for students in grades 3-8.
The African American Read-In was established in 1990 courtesy of the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English.
