Hawthorne Elementary families packed the building on Wednesday evening, March 23, in support of Cultural Night, an event celebrating the incredible diversity that enriches the school’s population.  Multicultural artwork was created by fifth grade pupils to decorate the halls, where tables were set up representing 13 countries with colorful displays of artifacts, clothing, photos, food and customs.  In the cafeteria, attendees had the opportunity to sample a wide variety of ethnic food provided by parents.  Fourth grade students also performed a recorder concert, and English as a Second Language pupils showed slides of their respective heritages, capping off a festive and memorable evening of cultural exchange.
