She Said Yes!

On Tuesday, October 22, Hawthorne Elementary students and staff participated in a fire drill as they do every month, but this one was a little different. Adam Honeycutt, a firefighter, with the cooperation of the Clinton Township Fire Department, was able to arrive in a fire truck during the exercise to surprise his girlfriend, second grade teacher Ashley Lamer, with a marriage proposal! With an audience of captivated students, the enthusiastic gesture was met with an eager head nod and “Yes!” from the unsuspecting Miss Lamer.
