Hawthorne Elementary School celebrated the theme of “family fun” with a Spring Fun Fair held this past Saturday. Activities included: face painting, balloon animals, inflatables, carnival games, bake sale, food sales, silent auction, and raffle. One parent, Rebecca O'Brien, whose son is in kindergarten, stated in a letter to the school that, “We enjoyed seeing all of the families out having fun together! It was a great event and we look forward to being a part of it again next year!!!!” Hawthorne was lucky to have volunteers from the community, staff, parents, Otterbein, and the Minerva Park Volunteer Association. All proceeds will help pay for future endeavors such as field trips, COSI on Wheels, and visits from the Zoo.
