Elementary students can weigh in on two possible new menu items for the 2022-23 school year.
The Westerville City Schools Food Services Department is hosting two taste tests at all elementaries next week:

A “Kidcuterie” tray, which includes slices of turkey, cheese, pretzels, baby carrots and grapes, will be served Wednesday, April 20 as lunch option C.

A chocolate SunButter bento box, which includes chocolate SunButter, graham crackers, apple slices and string cheese, will be served Friday, April 22 as lunch option B.
The district’s Food Services leaders are currently working on the menus for the upcoming school year and have been gathering feedback on potential lunch offerings.
Last month, the department launched a taste test at Alcott Elementary that included samples of chicken and vegetable potstickers, turkey sausage pancake bites, and chocolate SunButter on graham crackers.
This week, two Ohio State dietetic student interns for the department visited several schools to get feedback from students on the menu and suggestions on food they eat at home that they’d like to see at school.
Food Services Manager Ginger Parsons said the Kidcuterie tray and SunButter bento box offer students finger food options. The bento box, which includes SunButter made from sunflower seeds, provides an alternative to peanut butter and gives students a non-meat option.
