Meteorologist Andrew Michael arrived at Cherrington Elementary School in Sky 6, the ABC news helicopter.
Andrew Michael, the weekend meteorologist/science reporter for ABC 6/FOX 28 News, arrived at Cherrington Elementary School in grand fashion on Tuesday afternoon, November 19. He came in Sky 6, the ABC news helicopter, which landed on the grassy field in back of the school, much to the delight of fourth grade students who were anxiously awaiting the landing from a safe viewing area on the playground. Pupils got to inspect the helicopter up close, and then the group went inside for a talk about weather. Michael is a member of the American Meteorological Society and has been designated with that organization’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval. He came to Columbus from ABC sister stations in Dayton. He received his degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University.
