Participants at the NASA Family Night got to ask questions of Dave Mazza, an educator who works at the NASA Glenn Research Center.

A NASA Family Night was held Thursday, March 14, in the auditorium at Westerville Central High School for students and family members who attend Alcott, Cherrington, Emerson, Hawthorne, Huber Ridge, McVay, and Wilder.  A similar event was held in the fall for members of the Annehurst, Fouse, Hanby, Mark Twain, Pointview, Robert Frost, and Whittier communities.

Through a live, interactive video conference feed, attendees were able to interact with Dave Mazza, an educator who works at the NASA Glenn Research Center, and learn about space exploration and the recent “Curiosity” landing on Mars.  Students were also given an opportunity to ask questions such as, “What is a galaxy?” and “How fast is light speed?” which were promptly answered through videos and diagrams simultaneously conveyed through a verbal explanation in real-time direct from NASA.
