Westerville Central Student to Compete for Distinguished Young Women Scholarship

Westerville Central senior Megan Menapace has been selected as a representative at the 2013 Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program, which will be held the week of February 18-22 in Mount Vernon, Ohio.  Distinguished Young Women is a national scholarship program that inspires high school girls to develop their full, individual potential through a fun, transformative experience that culminates in a celebratory showcase of their accomplishments.  As the representative from Westerville Central High School, Menapace will be vying for a portion of $18,500 in cash scholarships.  The overall winner of the Ohio program will travel to Mobile, Alabama in June to take place in National Finals.

Distinguished Young Women of Ohio is an official preliminary of the Distinguished Young Women nonprofit scholarship program, which was founded in 1957 and formerly known as America’s Junior Miss.  Distinguished Young Women awards more than $33 million in scholarships to the nation’s top outstanding females each year.  For further information, please visit www.distinguishedyw.org.
