Friends, family members, teammates, coaches, teachers and administrators gathered in the Westerville North High School Media Center on Friday afternoon, March 22, to watch and celebrate as Rondale Smith signed a Letter of Intent to continue his education and play football at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Smith played youth football with the Metro Rams in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Once in Columbus, he played with New Birth Warriors. In high school, Smith made First Team Central District and First Team OCC, and was named Honorable Mention All-Ohio. He was also nominated for the This Week News Super 25 Team and received the Super 25 Honorable Mention Football award. Smith plans to study Psychology at Mercyhurst, where he will continue playing football.
