Friends, family members, teammates, coaches, teachers and administrators gathered in the Westerville North High School Media Center on Monday afternoon, March 11, to watch and celebrate as Andrew Dellasanta signed a Letter of Intent to play baseball and continue his education at Urbana University.
Dellasanta started playing baseball at the age of seven. He played in the Gahanna recreational league until he was 12, when he moved to Big League. For the last six years, he has played for the Big League Gahanna Pride/Diablos under head coach Mike Harrell. Dellasanta has played baseball all four years at Westerville North, his last two seasons on the varsity squad. At the end of the 2018 season, he received the Warrior Award as voted on by his peers. He was also selected as one of the captains for the 2019 season. Next year, Dellasanta will play baseball for the Division II Urbana Blue Knights in the Mountain East Conference. He will also be working towards a degree in Environmental Science.
