North students had the opportunity to attend sessions on design, grammar, photography, sports writing, interviewing, and even fake news.

Twenty-six Journalism 2 and Journalism 3 students from Westerville North High School attended the Ohio Scholastic Media Association Regional Conference at Otterbein University on October 8.  All members of North’s student newspaper, The Odyssey, they joined 350 other high school journalism students from across the state at the annual event.

Pupils were able to attend sessions on design, grammar, photography, sports writing, fake news, interviewing and much more.  All sessions were taught by journalism professionals, college staff and experienced teachers.

The Odyssey staff is looking forward to implementing some of these new ideas as they broaden their offerings in print, as well as online media.  English teacher and Odyssey adviser Maryann Hines accompanied the group.
