On Saturday, October 8, the Westerville North High School Marching Band competed at the 43rd annual Lexington Festival of Champions competition in Lexington, Ohio.  The band performed its 2016 competition show, “Cleopatra: The Eternal Queen.”  The band earned an Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) rating of “superior” in every judging category.  Also, the judging panel awarded Westerville North an overall superior rating.  This rating qualifies the band to compete at the OMEA State Marching Band Finals in late October.

The Westerville South marching band also had a successful weekend at the Marietta Band-O-Rama Competition on Saturday, October 8.  The band took third place overall (out of 10 bands) and received an overall Superior Rating, also qualifying them for OMEA state competition in October.  This year’s show is titled “Bend,” featuring music by Westerville South alum John Mackey.
