Westerville North’s Mia Hoffman Wins MIT Essay Contest

Westerville North High School sophomore Mia Hoffman has been notified that she won first place in the MIT Society of Women Engineers annual science and engineering essay competition.  The mission of the group is to promote interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields and encourage high school students to explore its implications on changing the world.  The 2015 essay prompt was, “What are ways to inspire younger generations to pursue STEM?”

Cash prizes will be awarded to all winners.
