Heritage Middle School Thespians Present Guys and Dolls, Jr.

Westerville residents will see how a “bushel and a peck” of students from Heritage Middle School “can do” when they present their production of Guys and Dolls, Jr., a shortened, but just-as-funny version of the original stage production.  It is part of the MTI Broadway Junior Collection ®.

Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls follows Salvation Army crusaders and high rollers from the streets of Times Square to Havana and back again.  Nathan Detroit, who is permanently engaged to psychosomatic showgirl Miss Adelaide, will be forced to fold Detroit’s Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game unless he wins a bet from slick high roller Sky Masterson.  When Sky gambles that he can woo any “doll,” Nathan counters that Sky will not be able to convince an up-right but up-tight missionary named Sarah to go to Havana with him.  Sarah finds the rakish Sky very resistible at first, but eventually both Sky and Sarah teach each other a lesson on winning.

Come and enjoy show-stopping songs such as Guys and Dolls, Luck be a Lady, I’ll Know, Bushel and a Peck, and Marry the Man Today.  And who can resist the memorable Sit Down, You’re Rockin the Boat?

The show will be performed in the Westerville North High School auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 31; Friday, February 1; and Saturday, February 2.  North is located at 950 County Line Road.  Tickets cost $7 and can purchased online, for a slight fee, through Local Level Events https://tinyurl.com/y99vn997 or at the door.
