Renowned artist Eric Marlow showed students at Heritage how to make a beautiful floral arrangement using plastic water bottles and two-liter jugs.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Ohio Arts Council, 7th grade students at Heritage Middle School got the opportunity to work with artist/craftsman Eric Marlow from October 12-14.  He taught them how to create art from plastic water containers and two-liter bottles.  Dr. Jan Fedorenko arranged for his visit.

Marlow has maintained a studio in Columbus for more than 40 years.  His painting, sculpture and one-of-a-kind jewelry have been exhibited both nationally and internationally.  He also does workshops using recyclable materials to create toys, games, jewelry, sculpture and more with students of all ages.  A Graduate of the Ohio State University, Marlow has taught on behalf of the Ohio Arts Council, the Greater Columbus Arts Council, Ohio Designer Craftsman, the Columbus Cultural Arts Center and the Ohio State University.  He began designing jewelry in the mid 60’s.  His small figurative work has been referred to as having “a neoclassical or timeless quality” and has been a hallmark of his jewelry career.  His work is on display at the Columbus Museum of Art, the Ohio Designer Craftsman gallery, and galleries and boutiques around the world.
