Westerville City School District Board of Education members and district leaders will be on hand in front of Hanby Elementary during Uptown Westerville’s 4th Friday event on May 26 to share community stakeholder survey as part of the search for the district’s next Superintendent.

Board members are seeking input that will help develop a leadership profile and selection criterion that:

  • Match the priorities of the Westerville community, and

  • Meet the unique needs of our students and those of our employees

The search firm selected by the Board — Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) — outlined a timeline that kicks off with an engagement phase, where community stakeholders can inform the recruitment and selection phases of the process. The information gathered through interviews, online surveys and focus groups will be used to develop a leadership profile and selection criterion that match the community’s priorities while also meeting the unique needs of the district’s staff and the students.

This week, the firm began hosting a series of 32 focus group discussions with individuals and groups identified by Board members, including district and building leaders, teachers, staff, students, parents, community partners and local government officials.

The community stakeholder survey is available in six languages: English, Spanish, Somali, Nepali, Portuguese and Arabic.
