Westerville City Schools parents, staff and community members will soon be able to share feedback that will help inform the search for the district’s next Superintendent.

A link to an online community stakeholder survey will be available Tuesday, May 16 on the district’s website. Some Board of Education members and district leaders will also be on hand in front of Hanby Elementary during Uptown Westerville’s 4th Friday event on May 26 to share the survey.

The search firm selected by the Board — Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) — outlined a timeline that kicks off with an engagement phase, where community stakeholders can inform the recruitment and selection phases of the process. The information gathered through interviews, online surveys and focus groups will be used to develop a leadership profile and selection criterion that match the community’s priorities while also meeting the unique needs of the district’s staff and the students.

Starting next week, the firm is hosting focus group discussions with individuals and groups identified by Board members, including district and building leaders, teachers, staff, students, parents, community partners and local government officials.

The community stakeholder survey will be available in six languages: English, Spanish, Somali, Nepali, Portuguese and Arabic.
