Terry VanHuffel, the secretary at Genoa Middle School, has been named the Westerville Educational Support Staff Association’s Staff Member of the Month for March.
WESSA President Sue Kaczor, Genoa Principal Scott Gaddis and Genoa staff surprised VanHuffel with the announcement on Thursday. Her nomination featured glowing praise from several staff members, including Anita Liao:
“(VanHuffel) is the best at her job. We always say she sits in the pilot seat at Genoa and keeps things under control. Terry greets our visitors and answers the phones each day in a professional, kind and helpful way. Our PTSA depends on her for help with classroom lists and handouts for fundraising. Our teachers always know when they have a question about grades for students; she will have an answer.”
“She has grace under fire; keeps her cool when the office gets busy and is always willing to help a staff member. Genoa is lucky to have her on our team.”
