Middle school students published in book about thrilling stories

Several Westerville middle school students are now published authors. They include:

  • Lyla Bjerke, a seventh-grader at Genoa

  • Lily Grace, a seventh-grader at Blendon

  • Holden Gray, a sixth-grader at Heritage

  • Elise Hamlini, a seventh-grader at Genoa

  • Eisley Holt, a seventh-grader at Genoa

  • Rebecca Koval, a sixth-grader at Heritage

  • Chiamaka Mgbatogu, a seventh-grader at Heritage

  • Ella Mohnsen, an eighth-grader at Genoa

  • Scout Sjoblom, a sixth-grader at Heritage 

  • Ambar Loya Sotomayor, a seventh-grader at Blendon 

  • McKenna Tamru, a seventh-grader at Heritage

  • Julianna Trudden, a seventh-grader at Genoa

  • Grant Winter, a seventh-grader at Genoa 

The middle school students submitted mini-sagas for a writing contest embodying the theme ‘SOS Sagas: Hunted’ sponsored by YoungWriters. YoungWriters is a Massachusetts-based group that coordinates writing contests for elementary, middle and high school students. More than 1,500 mini sagas were submitted for the contest and several Westerville students will now have their work published in a book titled, “Hunted: Adventures From the USA.”
