Westerville City Schools is committed to collaborating with all stakeholders in the creation of the district’s Portrait of a Graduate.

During a year filled with unpredictability and challenges, it is clear that students not only need to engage in learning experiences aligned with state standards, but they also need experiences that promote a variety of skills and competencies. The Portrait of a Graduate will provide consistency in the district’s framework that ensures all students have educational experiences that prepare them from their elementary grades through their high school years to continue to effectively learn and contribute beyond graduation. This living document will be used to identify and formulate programming that will serve as our community’s collective vision in the district’s efforts to be the benchmark of excellence in education.

The district is inviting parents, staff and community members to participate in the process:

Step 1:  Watch the following presentations about the goals for our district's Portrait of a Graduate

  • Video (approximately 6 1/2 minutes in length)

  • Presentation with Voice Over (approximately 4 minutes in length)

Step 2:  Complete a brief survey where you will be asked to identify the five (5) most critical 21st-century competencies that our students need in order to prepare them to be effective lifelong learners and contributors within our complex, rapidly changing world.

Please complete the survey by May 12. More information can be found here.
