Ema Rennie has been notified by the Ohio Association for Gifted Children (OAGC) that she will receive the Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award.  It will be presented on October 13 at an OAGC conference to be held at the Hilton-Easton in Columbus.  She will also be presented with a voucher for a $500 summer activity scholarship.  Rennie was a student at Heritage Middle School last year when she was nominated by her teacher, Debbie Pellington.  She now attends Genoa Middle School.

Launched by the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) in memory of an extraordinarily gifted seven-year-old who was senselessly killed in a drive-by shooting while traveling to Italy in 1994, the Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award is granted to one gifted student in each state for $500.  High-ability talented learners must demonstrate excellence and outstanding accomplishment in visual or performing arts, academic achievement, or leadership for consideration.
